Course Description

This core course will cover the usage of the most commonly deployed defensive appliances and mechanisms. We will discuss the purpose of each device type, its placement in the defensive stack, and what sort of information each device can produce. Students will be able to articulate how a given threat can be addressed with the devices available to them, and how to combine protections for even better coverage. Exercises will include setting up defensive infrastructures that will mirror what the student will see in real-world applications in businesses.

 

Recommended prerequisites: This course is designed for students with A+ and Network+ certifications or equivalent knowledge and experience as well as a basic understanding of Information Security concepts such as those taught in Core Concepts of Cyber Defense.
