Course Description

The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0 program is the next iteration of the CMMC cybersecurity model. It is designed to enforce protection of sensitive unclassified information that is shared by the Department of Defense with its contractors and subcontractors by providing increased assurance that industry is meeting the cybersecurity requirements that apply to acquisition programs and systems that process Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

In this course, you'll gain a foundational awareness of the CMMC model and its requirements as they relate to the Certified CMMC Professional (CCP) Exam process.

Is This Course For You?

If you have 1–2 years of experience in IT and are interested in gaining insight into the CMMC framework, this course is a great fit. This course was created for individuals who may not yet be ready to pursue certification, but want to become familiar with the exam structure, subject matter, and expectations.

What You’ll Learn

In this course, you’ll build an awareness of the structure and expectations of the CCP Exam. You’ll explore the purpose of CMMC standards, the types of information they protect, and the role of professionals working within the CMMC ecosystem.

How You'll Learn

This 12-week course is fully online and asynchronous, so you can complete each week’s material at a time that works best for you. You’ll learn through videos, readings, and interactive modules that illustrate the CMMC compliance environment and provide a high-level overview of the CCP Exam expectations and process.

Learning Outcomes

With this course, you will have gained access to the fundamental elements of CMMC, including:

• The types of cybersecurity threats that exist within the Defense Supply Chain and why federal regulations, including the CMMC model, have been developed in response.
• The purpose and structure of the CMMC framework and how it supports compliance with Department of Defense acquisition requirements.
• The roles and responsibilities involved in CMMC certification and assessment, including the function of the Certified CMMC Professional (CCP).
• The general scope and content areas covered in the CCP Exam, including how assessment evidence is referenced in the CMMC Assessment Guides.
• Key terminology, documentation types, and stakeholder expectations within the CMMC 2.0 ecosystem.
