CE-AIAP-3002 - Data Analytics for Non-Technical Leaders
Course Description
If you can understand and analyze data, it can be an extremely powerful tool for making data-driven decisions. In this course, you’ll learn how to use AI models with no-code or low-code platforms to interpret data and make decisions based on the insights you’ve gathered.
Is This Course For You?
If you’re a leader or want to pursue a leadership role in a non-technical setting, and you need more experience with analyzing data and using it to inform your decisions, this course is for you. Prior experience with coding, generative AI, and data analytics isn’t required to take this course. However, if you’re interested in pursuing the Applied Generative AI Mastery Certificate, we recommend you take the three core courses in that program before taking this one, which counts as an elective in the program. This course can also be taken concurrently with the capstone course for the mastery certificate, Building a No-Code or Low-Code AI Application.
What You’ll Learn
In this course, you’ll be introduced to data analytics concepts and tools for non-technical leaders. You’ll learn how to interpret data and make data-driven decisions using foundational AI models with no-code or low-code platforms. For your final project, which you can add to your professional portfolio to demonstrate the skills you’ve gained in this course, you’ll develop and deliver a comprehensive presentation showcasing the application of generative AI tools to a specific dataset relevant to your industry or profession. Throughout the course, you’ll gain all the skills and knowledge you need to complete this project, including how to identify a business decision that can be analyzed using relevant data, develop three strong arguments supported by data, and formulate a conclusion.
How You’ll Learn
This six-week course is fully online and asynchronous, so you can complete each week’s lessons and coursework at a time that works best for you. You’ll learn how to use data as a non-technical leader through activities including data interpretation exercises, case studies, and hands-on labs using no-code and low-code platforms for data analytics. You’ll also work on your final project, culminating in a final presentation that uses data to tell a story by analyzing a combination of structured and unstructured data. The use of generative AI will be encouraged throughout this course.
Skills You Walk Away With
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Develop an understanding of key data analytics concepts and techniques and programming literacy.
- Utilize no-code or low-code platforms to generate insights and tell data stories.
- Make informed, data-driven decisions in a business context.

Students should have a high-speed internet connection and be familiar with using web-based applications. All web-based applications can be run using a Mac or a PC with no software downloads required.
Students are encouraged to use an LLM and an image generator in the preparation of their business strategy and may pick their preferred tools. This may require a paid subscription.
Prerequisites
Students should have a working knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google (Docs, Sheets, Slides) to complete assignments with the option to use any AI features within those applications.
It is recommended that students take this course after they have completed Introduction to Generative AI, Business Ethics of Generative AI, and Applied Generative AI or have equivalent knowledge and experience.
