Course Description

The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0 program is the next iteration of the CMMC cybersecurity model. It is designed to enforce protection of sensitive unclassified information that is shared by the Department of Defense with its contractors and subcontractors by providing increased assurance that industry is meeting the cybersecurity requirements that apply to acquisition programs and systems that process Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). In this course, you’ll gain the skills and knowledge you need as a current IT professional to pass the Certified CMMC Professional (CCP) Exam.

Is This Course For You?

If you have 1-2 years of experience in IT and are interested in taking the CCP Exam, this course is perfect for you. This course was designed for those with no previous knowledge of or experience with CMMC and is designed to help you pass the CCP Exam*. Please note that there are requirements you must meet to take the exam, however you do not need to meet all of these requirements to take this course. The requirements to take the CCP Exam are:

• A college degree in a cyber or information technical field OR 2+ years of related experience or education; or 2+ years of equivalent experience (including military) in a cyber, information technology, or assessment field; and 
• Suggested CompTIA A+ or equivalent knowledge/experience; and Complete Certified CMMC Professional Class offered by a Licensed Training Provider (LTP); and 
• Pass the DOD CUI Awareness Training no earlier than three months prior to the exam.

What You’ll Learn

In this course, you’ll learn the necessary skills you need to pass the CCP Exam. CMMC standards are designed to ensure that sensitive unclassified information is being properly handled and safeguarded with cybersecurity measures, and as a CCP, you will be responsible for ensuring that organizations are compliant. This includes the assessment, examination, verification, and review of an organization for compliance to a respective level of CMMC standards, including relevant supporting materials, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements to protect Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

How You'll Learn

This 12 week course is fully online and asynchronous, so you will be able to complete each week’s course work at a time that works best for you. You’ll learn through videos, readings, and short assessments designed to match the format of the CCP Exam to help prepare you.

• Identify the threats to the Defense Supply Chain and the established regulations and standards for managing the risk.
• Describe how the CMMC Model ensures compliance with federal acquisitions regulations.
• Establish the Certification and Assessment scope boundaries for evaluating the systems that protect regulated information.
• Use the CMMC Assessment Guides to determine and assess the Evidence for practices.
