If you’re a rising high school sophomore, junior, or senior interested in being a healthcare provider like a doctor or nurse or you want to design health technology, this course is a great way to learn more about what the healthcare industry is like. By the end of the week, you’ll understand the variety of career choices available in the world of healthcare, medicine, or technology as well as how those industries overlap.
What You’ll Learn
During this course, you’ll develop the skills you need to be a good clinician or health technology developer. This includes working on techniques for listening and understanding patients as well as how to question them in a caring and respectful way so you can be a more effective clinician, technology developer, and more. You’ll also learn about the different careers available in the healthcare industry and the educational pathways you can take to get to a career in healthcare.
How You’ll Learn
This five day intensive is designed to give you hands-on, real world experience with what a future in healthcare could look like. You’ll get the opportunity to speak with real patients and use the concepts you’re learning about to connect with them and understand more about how you can help them whether that’s as a clinician or by designing technology they can use. By the end of the week, you’ll have a better understanding of what it would be like to study and work in this important industry.
